Natalie D. Smith, LCSW (she/her)

Natalie is a social worker who prides herself in using her skills in a multitude of experiences. She allows her enthusiasm and innate curiosity to guide her interests and interactions with others. Natalie views her work through the lens of feminist and trauma-informed frameworks and welcomes diversity in all of its forms.

For over ten years, Natalie provided crisis intervention to adolescents and families in crisis and runaway and homeless youth. She has also conducted trainings and presentations in related areas both locally and nationally. Natalie supported BSW and MSW students in their field experiences as a supervisor, liaison and seminar instructor. Most recently, Natalie has worked closely with children, teens, and families to support daily functioning and their journey towards greater independence. She has also fostered early childhood development and social, emotional, and physical health and well-being as a gymnastics instructor. Within her work, Natalie has addressed issues including depression, anxiety, loss and transition, relationship issues, and parenting.

Natalie received her masters degree from the University of Chicago and her bachelors, with a major in sociology and minor in gender studies, from Washington College on Maryland’s scenic eastern shore. Her interests, volunteer work, and advocacy focus on issues impacting women, gender and sexual identity, reproductive and sexual health, and survivors of sexual assault.

In her free time, Natalie takes advantage of all Chicago has to offer in its unique communities. She appreciates the time she spends with family and friends, and feels most invigorated when in nature, listening to music, and dancing.
